The Senators have an undefeated Boston team coming to town for the home opener at the Canadian Tire Centre. Coming off a back-to-back, the Senators look to take advantage of Boston's tired legs to notch their first win of the season.
Following a summer of excitement, the Canadian Tire Centre is rumoured to be the fullest it has been in the last five seasons. With only standing room tickets available this barn will be rocking!
Roster notes
When the Senators took the ice at this morning's practice, they lined up the same as they had during the Senators first game of the season against Buffalo. After practice head coach D.J. Smith mentioned that Nick Holden will likely take the place of Nikita Zaitsev in the third defensive pairing tonight.

Previous history
The Senators have matched up against Boston 149 times over the course of their history. The Bruins lead the all-time series 79-54-8 with eight ties coming before the 2005-06 NHL season.
Though the Bruins took three of the four matchups last season, the head-to-head was a lot closer than that. In four games three were decided by one goal, with one going to overtime, and a net goal differential of only plus three for Boston.
Who to watch
Forward Claude Giroux makes his much-anticipated home debut tonight. The city has been a buzz since Giroux elected to come home this summer and suit up for the Senators.
Giroux looks to continue where he left off in Toronto, where he notched his first two points as a Senator on Saturday. His assist on Shane Pinto's power play goal to open scoring was his first point as a Senator, while his late goal to tie the game was his first goal donning the red, black, white and gold.
