The Ottawa Senators have agreed to terms with veteran defenceman, Travis Hamonic.

Hammer is coming back to Ottawa! Travis Hamonic and the Senators agreed to terms on a two-year deal with an AAV of $1.1 million that will keep the veteran defenceman in the Nations capital through to the 2024-25 NHL season.

A 13-year NHL veteran, Hamonic brings a steadying presence to the Senators and will continue to play a leadership role in the locker room with this young defensive core. Coming up on his 800th career NHL game, Hamonic has scored 50 goals and added 179 assists for 229 total points across four NHL teams.

Hamonic has been with the Senators since they traded for him in March of 2022. He played a crucial role in the development of Jake Sanderson who he played alongside right up until a lower body injury held him out the last two weeks of the season.

Hamonic's signing now gives the Senators a group of seven NHL contracts on the blue line, and an element of consistency with all having played for the team last season.
