As the season draws closer and we count down the days to the Senators’ home opener (October 10th at 7:00 p.m. vs. the Florida Panthers), let’s look back on how our Sens fared last season, throughout their careers, and if they have any milestones on the horizon.
Naturally, sitting at 43 days away from the home opener, today is the perfect day to kick things off with #43, defenceman Tyler Kleven.
Last season, Tyler Kleven suited up in nine regular season games with the Ottawa Senators. In that span, the 22-year-old defenceman recorded one point in the form of an assist. Kleven spent the majority of his 2023-24 season with the Senators’ AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators.
In Belleville, the Fargo, North Dakota native skated in 53 regular season games, during which he scored five goals and added 16 assists for a total of 21 points. Kleven also played in all seven of Belleville’s playoff games. In those seven games, he scored three points in the form of a goal and two assists.
With just 17 games under his belt, Tyler Kleven’s NHL career is only beginning. Over the course of two seasons, the young defenceman has tallied three assists, which means he is still chasing one of the biggest milestones in any skater’s career — his first NHL goal. Tyler Kleven has the chance to see playing time with the Senators’ NHL club this season, which would put him one step closer to scoring that elusive first goal.
At just 43 days away, the Ottawa Senators’ home opener will be here in no time. Fans wanting to be a part of the action can still get tickets HERE!
