In 161 NHL games, Nilsson went 59-74-15 with a .907 save percentage and a 3.06 GAA and had six career shutouts. In addition to the Sens, the Swede also played for the New York Islanders, Edmonton, St. Louis, Buffalo and Vancouver. The 31-year-old was the 62nd overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft by the Islanders.
Outside of the NHL, Nilsson won a World Juniors bronze medal in 2010, a World Championships bronze in 2014 and was named to the KHL First All-Star team in 2015 when playing for Ak Bars Kazan.
