OTTAWA- The National Hockey League and the Ottawa Senators announced today the team's 2019-20 regular-season schedule, which will see the club open when new head coach D.J. Smith returns to face his former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, in Toronto on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The Senators home schedule opens with a four-game homestand, highlighted with the home opener against the N.Y. Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 5, and a visit to Canadian Tire Centre by the Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues on Thursday, Oct. 10. The 82-game 2019-20 calendar will conclude when the Senators host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, April 4.
Ottawa Senators announce 2019-20 regular-season schedule
The 2019-20 schedule will feature home and road games against each NHL opponent. Ottawa will face each of its Atlantic Division rivals (Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, Florida, Montreal, Tampa Bay and Toronto) four times each and will play the remaining eight Eastern Conference teams three times, respectively. A home-and-away series with each of the league's 15 Western Conference teams are also included within the schedule.
The Senators' 2019-20 regular-season home schedule features a total of 30 games from Thursday to Sunday at Canadian Tire Centre, including 13 Saturday home games.

Schedule highlights for 2019-20
- The Stanley Cup-champion St. Louis Blues will visit Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday, Oct. 10
- The Senators will host the Eastern Conference champion Boston Bruins on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and on Monday, Dec. 9
- Ottawa will play back-to-back games on 14 occasions in 2019-20, one of which takes place at home
- The Senators will host six consecutive games at Canadian Tire Centre from Feb. 13 to Feb. 22, their longest homestand of the season and they also have one five-game homestand from Jan. 11 to Jan. 27
- The team has two separate five-game road trips: Nov. 29 to Dec. 7 and March 7 to March 15
- The 2020 NHL all-star celebration will take place in St. Louis between Jan. 23 and Jan. 26
