OTTAWA - The
National Hockey League
and the
Ottawa Senators
announced today the 2021-22 regular-season schedule, which will see the club begin the campaign at Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday, Oct. 14, against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It will mark the Senators' third consecutive season-opening contest against Toronto.

The 2021-22 regular-season sees the Senators return to competition as a member of the Atlantic Division where they will face conference rivals Boston, Florida, Montreal, Tampa Bay and Toronto four times respectively. Ottawa will oppose Buffalo and Detroit three times each.
The Senators will welcome their first American opponent since March 5, 2020, when the 2020 Stanley Cup finalist Dallas Stars visit the nation's capital on Sunday, Oct. 17. The team's home schedule features 12 of its first 18 games at Canadian Tire Centre highlighted by a visit from the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, Nov. 6.
The 82-game 2021-22 calendar will feature home and road games against all 31 league opponents, including matchups against the NHL's newest club, the Seattle Kraken, who visit Ottawa for the first time on Thursday, March 10 after the club makes its first visit to the Emerald City on Thursday, Jan. 6. Following a three-game homestand from April 23 to April 28, the Senators will conclude their regular-season schedule on Friday, April 29 in Philadelphia.
The Senators' 2021-22 regular-season schedule features a total of 29 games from Thursday to Sunday at Canadian Tire Centre, including 12 Saturday home contests.
A decision has not yet been made regarding the possible participation of NHL Players in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Talks between the NHL, the NHL Players' Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation remain ongoing. Should an agreement be reached, the league will pause from Feb. 7 to 22.
