OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has signed college free agent forward Max Veronneau to a two-year entry-level contract. Veronneau is expected to join the Senators in time for practice on Wednesday at Canadian Tire Centre.

"We are very excited to have Max join the Ottawa Senators," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. "We aggressively pursued Max, whose talents made him one of the highly sought-after college free agents available this year. He plays the game with tremendous pace and has terrific offensive instincts. Max will be given the opportunity to compete to be part of the Senators team, both now and in the future."
An Ottawa native, Veronneau, 23, concluded his senior season with the NCAA's Princeton University Tigers in 2018-19, seeing his collegiate playing career come to an end during a 6-5 triple overtime loss at Brown on Saturday. An alternate captain, Veronneau ranked second among Tigers in scoring this past season with 37 points (13 goals, 24 assists) while registering only two penalty minutes in 31 games.
A 6-0, 180-pound forward, Veronneau scored 52 goals and recorded 144 points over 130 career games to rank fourth among all-time Princeton scorers. He also ranked second in Tigers program history with 92 assists and was second in NCAA scoring during the 2017-18 season with 55 points. Veronneau was also nominated for the Hobey Baker Award, which is given to the top NCAA men's ice hockey player in the nation, in each of the last two seasons.
Prior to attending Princeton, Veronneau played parts of three seasons with the CCHL's Gloucester Rangers where he recorded 119 points (56 goals, 63 assists) and 16 penalty minutes over 92 games.
