OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club will host its first "Love is Love" night on Tuesday, Feb. 12, against the Carolina Hurricanes. This event is part of the celebration of the National Hockey League's Hockey Is For Everyone initiative.

The first "Love is Love" Night will be hosted in conjunction with You Can Play - a non-profit organization committed to supporting the LGBTQ community and fighting homophobia in sports. The game will feature several unique activations throughout the evening including special messages of inclusion and equality that will be integrated into the game presentation. You Can Play will also have a strong representation in the concourse of the arena and will be on hand to provide information to all interested parties.
In advance of Valentine's Day, the Senators inclusive "Love Is Love" night will feature unique Senators-branded roses for sale at the top of Gate 1, in sections 208-209 and within the Brookstreet Lounge, Club Red and Club Bell. In addition, a live 80's cover band will be playing iconic love songs at the top of Gate 1 and Club Red will be serving a special table d'hôte menu prior to the game.
Senators players, staff to participate in Capital Pride March during WinterPride Festival on Sunday, Feb. 10
The Senators will work to promote inclusion with a select group of players in the city's Capital Pride March on Sunday, Feb. 10. The march, known as Let's March and Make Noise: Standing Proud, Standing Out, will commemorate and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalization of homosexuality in Canada along with promoting equality for all. Presented by Capital Pride and Canadian Heritage, the march is set to depart from the Centennial Flame on Parliament Hill at 12 p.m. and will conclude at Bank St. and Sparks St. at 1:30 p.m. Senators players Mark Borowiecki and Anders Nilsson are schedule to take part in the march on Sunday.
A league-wide initiative, Hockey Is For Everyone looks to celebrate all people who play or watch hockey regardless of race, colour, religion, national origin, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status or disability, and is conducted in partnership with the You Can Play Project. Borowiecki is proudly serving as Ottawa's Hockey Is for Everyone Ambassador this season.
