Post-game Recap: Canadiens vs Senators

The Ottawa Senators defeated division rival from Montreal 6-2 on Thursday night with Tim Stützle leading the way with a goal and two assists. 

The Senators have now won two of the three games on this homestand and have won four of their last six home games.

Goal: Brady Tkachuk opens the scoring with the help of Ridly Greig and Artem Zub. 1-0 Sens with 11:20 to go in the first period.

Goal: Tim Stützle doubles the lead at the 8:53 mark of the first and Artem Zub picks up another assist. Sens are up 2-0!

Goal: Cole Caufield gets one back for Montreal with 6:35 remaining in the first.

Goal: Rourke Chartier scores with the help of Jacob Bernard-Docker and Parker Kelly at the 10:09 mark. Sens lead 3-1!

Penalty: Erik Brannstrom gets called for tripping Brendan Gallagher at the 4:14 mark. Montreal gets the first power play of the game.

Sens kill off their first penalty!

Goal: Sens score AGAIN, Tarasenko makes it 4-1 SENS with 1:06 left of the second!

Penalty: Ridly Greig goes to the box for slashing Nick Suzuki at the 00:53 mark. Sens go back onto the penalty kill.

Claude Giroux scores a short handed goal with 00:14 to go in the second but gets denied for goaltender interference.

Senators start the final 20 killing off the remainder of Ridly Greigs penalty.

Goal: With a nice pass from Tim Stützle, Joseph knocks it in to bring the lead up 5-1 with 18:19 to play.

Penalty: Joel Armia gets 2 minutes for goaltender interference, Sens get their first power play of the game with 17:40 left to play.

Penalty: Stützle and Gallagher both get 2 minutes for roughing, four on four starts now!

Goal: Parker Kelly gets one into the empty, 6-1 Sens with 7:35 to play!

Penalty: Chychrun gets called for holding Mitchell Stephens, the game goes to four on three with 7:16 left of the third.

Sens kill off their fourth penalty of the game.

Goal: Michael Pezzetta scores with 4:44 to play, 6-2 Senators.

Penalty: Jayden Struble gets 2 minutes for holding Tkachuk, Sens will go back on the power play with 3:45 left to play.

Penalty: Bernard-Docker gets called for interference with 00:11 left to play.
