Condon, 26, made his National Hockey League debut on Oct. 11, 2015, in Ottawa, and made 20 saves in helping the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-1 win over the Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. In 55 games with Montreal last season, including 51 starts, he earned a record of 21-25-6 with a .903 save percentage and a 2.71 goals-against average.
A 6-2, 197-pound native of Holliston, Mass., Condon has appeared in one game with the Penguins this season and stopped each of the seven shots he faced in relief of Marc-Andre Fleury in Pittsburgh's 5-1 loss at Nashville on Oct. 22.
Undrafted, Condon was originally signed to a two-year contract by the Montreal Canadiens on May 8, 2013, after concluding his final season of collegiate eligibility with the Princeton Tigers earlier that spring. Prior to being signed by Montreal, Condon appeared in four games (3-1-0) with the ECHL's Ontario Reign on an amateur tryout and in five games (3-0-0) with the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros. He earned a record of 18-22-8 with a .911 save percentage and a 2.65 goals-against average over four seasons at Princeton.
In addition to this transaction, the Senators have re-assigned goaltender Matt O'Connor to the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
