"Derick underwent surgery today in Cleveland, Ohio, to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder. The surgery went according to plan and Derick will begin a rehabilitation program immediately," said Dorion. "Following the surgery, it was confirmed that the expected recovery period is four to five months and we remain hopeful that he will be ready for the start of the 2017-18 regular season."
