With such a unique schedule in front of us, we're going to dive into Ottawa's history against the other six Canadian squads ahead of the Sens' first match-up against each team. First up: Toronto.
Overall record
The Sens and Leafs have met 123 times previously in the regular season with Ottawa boasting a 64-46-10 record along with three ties while scoring 373 goals in the process.
In 61 home games, the Sens hold a 35-20-5 (one tie) record while on the road, they've won 29 of 62 contests.
The Sens' 141 points collected against the Leafs is the third most they've earned against any team. However, the Leafs have won all four playoff meetings between the sides (2000, 2001, 2002, 2004).
Player stats
Daniel Alfredsson and Chris Phillips both share the honour of being the most-capped Senator to face Toronto as they have each played 80 games against the Leafs.
Alfredsson's 71 points are also the most by a Senator, as are his 33 goals. Jason Spezza has the most assists, ironically as he suits up for the Leafs now, with 39.
Chris Neil holds the most penalty minutes with 294. Craig Anderson's 29 games played and 14 wins are the most by a Sens goalie in the Battle of Ontario.
In the playoffs, Alfredsson and Marian Hossa each played 24 games against Toronto while Alfredsson's 15 points are the most. Patrick Lalime played 18 playoff games in goal for the Sens versus the Leafs.
