During the 2016-17 season, the Sharks Foundation donated a record-breaking $1.8 million to the community through its Giving Campaign. Each month the Foundation focused on different causes including Healthy Living, Hockey Fights Cancer, Season of Giving, Military Appreciation, Education, Character Development and Environmental Awareness, which featured key activation with Sharks players, coaches, alumni, executives, partners and S.J. Sharkie. In addition, the Sharks Foundation's 50/50 Raffle dedicated more than $500,000 to non-profits across the Bay Area in its inaugural year.
