Meier Has a Blast in All-Star Debut

Sharks forward, Timo Meier had "an absolute blast," on and off the ice during his first NHL All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas.
He wasted no time getting the fun started on Thursday, February 3, when he got behind the wheel of a tank. Meier even made sure to take a jab at another Sharks teammate.
"I'm going to be driving a tank. And I'm going to be driving over a car that kind of looks like Mario Ferraro's car, so it's going to be fun," Meier joked before getting behind the wheel.

The first official day of All-Star Weekend, Friday, February 4, was packed with Media Day and the first on-ice activities.
Meier also had the chance to catch up with former Sharks teammate Joe Pavelski who was representing the Dallas Stars in Las Vegas. Being the good guy he is, Meier even made sure to get Pavelski's son a stick to add to his collection.
"He's just an absolute great teammate first of all. He helped me as a player to grow when I came in first with the Sharks, kind of took me under his wing and gave me some advice," he said when asked about Pavelski.

After media, the real fun started. Meier took a shot in the Save Streak and scored on Predator's Juuse Saros before participating in his event, the Hardest Shot.

"I'll just try to shoot it as hard as I can and just hopefully don't miss the net," Meier joked beforehand.
As we all expected, both shots were on target. Meier's two attempts clocked in at 91.3 MPH and 100.1 MPH.

On Saturday, Meier and the Pacific All-Stars took on the Metropolitan Division plyers in the first semi-final All-Star Game of the day.

Meier started off hot, getting his first NHL All-Star goal and the first goal for the Pacific team. He also added an assist on a Jordan Eberle goal later in the game.

Despite a late comeback effort, the Pacific squad lost, 6-4, wrapping up Meier's first All-Star Weekend.
Even with the early loss, he still had a fun weekend in his All-Star debut and solidified why he's one of the league's best.

"I didn't really know what to expect coming in, but bunch of great guys and it was fun being out there for sure," Meier said after the game.
