For the past three seasons, the Sharks have hosted the extremely popular Los Tiburones night, an evening to celebrate the proud Hispanic heritage and population of San Jose. The night includes specially-designed Los Tiburones jerseys that Sharks players wear during pre-game warm-ups that are later auctioned to fans with net proceeds benefitting the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. Fans in attendance also receive replica Los Tiburones jerseys upon entering SAP Center.
"We're extremely excited to build off the growing success of our Spanish broadcasts from our annual Los Tiburones Nights," said Vice President of Media Relations & Broadcasting Scott Emmert. "Our partnership with TICO will assist us in expanding the excitement of Sharks hockey to new audiences via the Sharks + SAP Center App and our television broadcast."
In addition to the radio broadcast, the partnership with Tico will include Spanish language social media and web elements (
