The six-foot-one, 205-pound native of Plano, Texas, was originally selected by the Ottawa Senators in the 2011 NHL Draft (first round, 21st overall).
Middleton, 25, has posted two penalty minutes and one shot on goal in one game with the Sharks this season, and has added two penalty minutes in two games with the Barracuda this season.
The six-foot-three, 210-pound native of Wainwright, Alberta, was originally selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2014 NHL Draft (seventh round, 210th overall).
