Peterson, 23, was acquired by the Sharks in a trade with the Dallas Stars on March 3. The forward appeared in one NHL game for Dallas and recorded 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) in 44 American Hockey League (AHL) games for the Texas Stars this season prior to the trade. He has 17 points (12 goals, five assists) and 12 penalty minutes in 66 career NHL contests. Peterson also appeared in three NHL playoff games for Dallas in 2021-22.
The Lidkoping, Sweden native has six points (one goal, five assists) in eight games with the Barracuda since being acquired by the Sharks, bringing his AHL season totals to 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 52 games.
The six-foot-one, 180-pound forward was originally selected by Dallas in the fifth round (132nd overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
