Throughout the month of February, the Sharks Foundation celebrated Black history and culture by partnering with Black artists, local BIPOC non-profit organizations, and national organizations committed to advancing equity for people of color during our Black History Month campaign.

On February 1, the Foundation began the month with the launch of the 2021-2022
Teal Tote
fundraiser. Teal Totes are backpacks that include an authentic, autographed Sharks jersey and other items only available through this offer. This year's Teal Tote design was created by
Terry Smith
, the artist behind the original San Jose Sharks Crest. Learn more about Terry's creative process in creating this year's exclusive design

Partial net proceeds from Teal sales benefited Self-eSTEM, whose mission is to build the self-esteem of girls and young women from untapped communities, while providing interactive, culturally responsive STEM literacy, leadership, and technical training preparing them to thrive in ever-changing labor markets.
From February 14-16, in celebration of the 2022 Winter Olympics, the Foundation held an auction benefiting Special Olympics Northern California (SONC). The auction resulted in a $4,500 donation which will support SONC's Bay Area Sports and Community Health Programs, allowing them to impact 17,961 youth and adults.
February 26 was the San Jose Sharks

celebration. The evening began with a pre-game Block Party which featured booths from local BIPOC non-profits and businesses, a voter registration booth hosted by the
Santa Clara Registrar
, a DJ, a beer booth hosted by the Sharks Foundation, and more. During the game,

from KNBR Radio served as the in-arena announcer and Terry Smith joined us on the ice for the ceremonial puck drop.
That evening, Positive Coaching Alliance served as the beneficiary for the 50/50 Raffle presented by Cache Creek Casino Resort which resulted in an $8,205 donation to support their Sports Can Battle Racism program. The Foundation also hosted a 48-hour Black History Fundraiser benefiting African American Community Service Agency, generating $2,000 to support their mission to preserve the dignity and culture of a diverse African American Community.
In total, the Sharks Foundation dedicated $14,705 and impacted over 19,473 lives during Black History Month this February.
