Stars opening night roster announced

Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today the team's roster for opening night, which consists of 23 players: 13 forwards, 8 defensemen and two goaltenders. Additionally the club has loaned defenseman Mattias Backman to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League, has placed forward Jason Dickinson on injured non-roster and placed forwardsCody Eakin (knee), Ales Hemsky (groin) and Mattias Janmark (knee) on injured reserve.

For the sixth consecutive season the Stars will open the 2016-17 campaign at American Airlines Center as the team plays host to the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 pm.
