ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Wild's 2019-20 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season schedule was released today. The Wild opens the season in Nashville on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. CT, the first of three straight road games. Minnesota returns to Saint Paul for its home opener on Saturday, Oct. 12, hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7 p.m. CT at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild plays 17 of its first 26 games of the season on the road (Oct. 3-Nov. 30). The nine home games in October and November are the fewest in franchise history.

The 2019-20 schedule consists of 82 games - 41 at Xcel Energy Center and 41 road contests. Minnesota's home schedule features 21 weekend games (one on Friday, 11 on Saturday and nine on Sunday). The Wild's four home games in October are tied for the fewest in franchise history (2014-15, 2016-17). Minnesota is one of three NHL teams (Boston, Los Angeles) to hold its home opener on Oct. 12 - the latest date for home openers. The 24 home games from Jan. 1 to the end of the season are tied for the most in franchise history in a full season (2014-15, 2016-17). Most evening games at Xcel Energy Center will begin at 7 p.m.
The Wild will play 26 games against Central Division opponents, including four games each (two home, two road) against Chicago, Dallas, St. Louis and Winnipeg. Minnesota will play five games against Colorado (three home, two road) and Nashville (two home, three road). The Wild will face the defending Stanley Cup Champion Blues for the first time on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in St. Louis. The 2020 NHL All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Jan. 26 at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Minnesota will also play three games against each team in the Pacific Division for a total of 24 games: Anaheim (one home, two road), Arizona (one home, two road), Calgary (two home, one road), Edmonton (two home, one road), Los Angeles (one home, two road), San Jose (one home, two road), Vancouver (two home, one road) and Vegas (two home, one road).
The Wild will play each team in the Eastern Conference twice (one home, one road) for a total of 32 contests. Popular Eastern Conference visits to Xcel Energy Center include Pittsburgh (Oct. 12), Montreal (Oct. 20), Toronto (Dec. 31), Eastern Conference Champion Boston (Feb. 1), New York Rangers (Feb. 13) and Washington (March 1).
The on-sale date and pricing for Minnesota Wild regular season tickets will be announced at a later day.
