The Wild Warmup is presented by Bryant Heating and Cooling
DENVER --The Wild will conclude a three-game road trip Saturday night when it plays its first game of the season against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena.
Minnesota is dealing with a number of players out because of illness and injury right now, and the latest is forward Jordan Greenway, who was placed on injured reserve on Friday because of a lower-body injury sustained in the third period of the Wild's 4-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken Thursday night.
With the addition of Greenway to the team's IR list, the Wild recalled forward Adam Beckman from the Iowa Wild and he will be in Denver for morning skate on Saturday. If he plays against the Avalanche, it would be Beckman's NHL debut.
UPDATE: Beckman will indeed make his NHL debut on Saturday night.

Beckman ahead of his NHL debut

Beckman was outstanding for the Wild during the exhibition season, scoring four goals in four preseason appearances, vaulting himself to near the front of the line for a spot in Minnesota. He's had one goal and two assists in four games with Iowa this season.
Beckman's debut marks the second consecutive game with an NHL debut for the Wild, who had two in Seattle, when forward Connor Dewar and defenseman Jon Lizotte each skated in their first NHL contests.
Lizotte's stay with Minnesota was short, however. He was reassigned to Iowa on Friday and Calen Addison was recalled in his place.
Addison, who made his NHL debut last season, has two assists in four games in the AHL this season. He went scoreless in three regular season games last year, but tallied an assist in one of his three Stanley Cup Playoff games.

The recall of Addison could be a sign that the Wild could be without defenseman Alex Goligoski for a bit. He didn't play Thursday because of an upper-body injury. Neither did Dmitry Kulikov, who missed the game with a lower-body injury.
Kulikov is considered day-to-day at this point, but Evason said Saturday that all signs pointed to him playing after a good showing at morning skate.

Evason pregame at Colorado

In addition to the injuries, the Wild is still dealing with COVID-19-related issues as both Mats Zuccarello and Rem Pitlick's tests came back positive again, meaning they'll miss at least the next 10 days of action.
Dewar remains with the team, as does Kyle Rau, who was a healthy scratch on Thursday night. Rau is expected to hop into the lineup versus the Avs.
Colorado could also be dealing with an important injury as Mikko Rantanen did not practice Friday after missing the Avs' game Thursday night versus St. Louis.
Rantanen, who turned 25 on Friday, has three goals and five points in six games this season but could be a game-time decision. His lower-body injury isn't believed to be serious, but his absence if he can't play would be a big loss.
Without Rantanen on the ice Friday, Andre Burakovsky skated on the first line at right wing next to Gabriel Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon.
Defenseman Samuel Girard could also return to the lineup after missing the past two games with an undisclosed injury. He practiced Friday and his availability will be determined Saturday morning.
