Pietrangelo shares Stanley Cup with his kids, eats pasta from trophy

KING CITY, Ont. - After a round of golf with some of his cousins and closest friends, Blues captain Alex Pietrangelo took the Stanley Cup home to meet his triplets, Evelyn, Oliver and Theodore.

In just a week, the Pietrangelo babies will turn one year old.

Stanley, as it turns out, makes a pretty good birthday present.

"If you have kids, you know what it's like," Pietrangelo told NHL.com during the Stanley Cup Final. "It's the best thing to ever happen to you. It puts things into perspective when you're a parent."

Evelyn, Oliver and Theodore woke up from their afternoon nap Sunday to see the Stanley Cup sitting on their countertop. Curiously, they studied it, touched it and smiled for pictures with it.

After a few family photos, it was time to go to grandma and grandpa's house.

Alex and his wife, Jayne, buckled the children into their strollers and went for the five-minute walk down the street, where the rest of the family had gathered to celebration Alex's first Stanley Cup championship.

At his parents' house, Alex put a large serving of his nonna's pasta into the Stanley Cup, grabbed a fork and took a bite.
