Shutron, an ex-defenseman who played in the OHL, the CIS and shortly in the ECHL, retired from professional hockey after the 2014-15 season to make the jump to the managerial side of hockey. He notably served as Team Manager with Team Canada at the Spengler Cup in 2018-19 as well as in 2019-20 on the championship squad, before serving in the same role with Team Canada at the World Junior Championship this season, where he earned silver with the U20.
Shutron, 32, was selected in the fourth round (95th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He won the Memorial Cup as a player with the Windsor Spitfires in 2008-09.
