MONTREAL - The Canadiens made seven picks on the second day of the 2020 NHL Draft.

The Habs made two picks in the second round. First, they selected left wing Luke Tuch from the USNTDP with the 47th-overall pick.

Montreal picked again immediately afterwards, choosing center Jan Mysak from the OHL's Hamilton Bulldogs with the 48th-overall selection.

The Canadiens traded the 57th-overall pick to the Lightning in exchange for the 124th-overall pick in 2020 and Tampa Bay's second-round pick in 2021.
After dealing away their 78th-overall pick in the Anderson trade, the Canadiens weren't called to the virtual podium in the third round.
Montreal traded the 98th-overall pick (4th round) to San Jose for Washington's 3rd-round pick (previously acquired) in 2021. The team made three picks in the fourth round.
With the 102nd-overall selection, the Habs picked up center Jack Smith from the USHL's Sioux Falls Stampede.

Next, Montreal picked Blake Biondi from Hermantown High School in Minnesota with the 109th-overall selection.

Finally in the fourth round, the Habs went with Sean Farrell from the USHL's Chicago Steel at 124th-overall.

In Round 5, the Canadiens went with goaltender Jakub Dobes from the USHL's Omaha Lancers with the 136th-overall pick.

In the sixth round, the Habs selected Alexander Gordin from SKA-St. Petersburg in Russia's MHL at 171st overall.

The Canadiens traded their seventh-round pick (188th overall) in 2020 to the Blackhawks in exchange for Montreal's seventh-round pick in 2021, which had previously been acquired by Chicago. That closed out the Habs' day at the 2020 NHL Draft.
The Canadiens were active on the opening day of the Draft on Tuesday. First,
they placed defenseman Karl Alzner on unconditional waivers
for the purpose of a contract buyout.
Later in the day, they
acquired forward Josh Anderson
from the Columbus Blue Jackets in return for Max Domi and their 2020 third-round pick (78th overall).
With the 16th-overall pick at the Draft, the Habs
plucked defenseman Kaiden Guhle
from the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders.
