Following the game, forward Josh Anderson, goaltender Jake Allen and interim head coach Dominique Ducharme spoke with reporters via Zoom.
Here are a few highlights from their respective chats:
Anderson on his mentality during a critical game versus Edmonton:
We can't wait around any longer. These games are way too important. We've got to start playing playoff hockey, so once we get into the playoffs, we're ready to go and we're not a step behind. Tonight was a step in the right direction. We played hard and we played the right way. We've just got to continue to build on that.

Josh Anderson on his two-goal night in Edmonton

Anderson on the play of defensemen Shea Weber and Ben Chiarot:
They were absolutely massive for us. Anytime forwards are going back for the puck, they knew that Shea and Benny were there to be physical on them and bring that presence. Anytime you're going up against those two guys, it's going to be a really tough night. Not only were they physical, they were blocking shots for us and they were very good on the penalty kill tonight. Just all aspects of their game, I thought they played really, really well.

Allen on Anderson's outstanding performance:
I just think you see when his feet are moving all the time just how good he is. When you see his legs going, he might not be as fast as McDavid, but he's right up there in that upper echelon of skaters in the League. Once he gets his big frame moving, good luck stopping a guy coming down the wing with 230 pounds of muscle, no fat, and a guy with a hell of a shot, too. He's a game-changer when he gets his feet going and playing hard and heavy like that. When he's playing like that, he's going to be tough to stop.

Allen on bringing a playoff-type effort against the Oilers:
Playing against the Oilers, you've got to play that type of hockey to win. You've got to slow them down, you've got to be in their face, you've got to be in their lanes. I thought the guys did that right from the drop of the puck. Their attitudes seemed good. Even in the room before the game, there was a good vibe, a good feel in there, and they executed to a tee. They got a couple of goals late, but that's going to happen, especially when two of the best players in the world are on the ice. But the guys played heavy, they played hard and they played smart with the puck. From my perspective, we didn't give any bad passes away. We waited for our opportunities and the guys came through in the clutch with a couple of goals in the third.

Ducharme on Anderson's showing:
We know the way he plays, and he was at his best tonight. He was physical and he used his speed. He took pucks to the net. I think our whole team went about their business that way.

Ducharme on his players' involvement:
I liked our engagement in every aspect of the game. We applied pressure to get the puck and we went to the net. We had good puck support, which allowed us to execute quickly.
