Following the on-ice session, forward Tyler Toffoli, defenseman Shea Weber and interim head coach Dominique Ducharme spoke with reporters via Zoom.
Here are a few highlights from their respective chats:
Toffoli on Weber's return from injury:
It's been nice with some of the guys coming back and getting healthy. Webby's a beast. He's a warrior and he's going to do whatever it takes to win. I know he was like a little kid being able to start shooting and playing physical. We had a couple of battle drills for him today and he looked awesome.

Toffoli on the Habs being the underdogs

Toffoli on linemate Nick Suzuki heading into the postseason:
He's young, but he has the potential to be elite. Everybody's just really excited to see him keep growing. Being able to play against Toronto in the first round of the NHL playoffs, there's no better chance to get your name out there even more and prove yourself. I'm excited for him, for myself, for everybody in our locker room, and we've got to be ready to go.
Weber on being healthy again:
Skating by yourself for two weeks isn't the greatest feeling, so just being back out there with the guys, it is like a little kid. You love this game so much and you love being out there with your teammates and with the guys that you fought with all year. Now that we're going into battle in the playoffs, it's even more exciting. I'm definitely fortunate to be back and looking forward to Game 1.

Weber on returning to action on Thursday night

Weber on his mindset with the series-opener on the horizon:
There's always nerves, especially going into playoffs. It's the excitement and the enthusiasm. It's no different than any year. It seems like forever. Even talking to the guys that haven't played in only a week, it seems like forever for them. It's been a couple of more weeks for me, so there's definitely an itch. I'm ready to go and get back out there.
Ducharme on the Canadiens' practices over the last few days:
I liked the way our players responded. We made the most of our four days on the ice. I liked our execution, the level of focus and the engagement. Our rhythm just kept on rising. We're in a good spot. We'll be ready for Game 1.

Ducharme on the team's prep work this week

Ducharme on his first playoff game in the NHL ranks as a head coach:
I feel good. We're ready. We did our homework and we're ready for the exam. We studied, we prepared and we're ready for the series to start. When you aren't ready, you get nervous and you don't know what to expect. We're confident in our preparation. We're ready for the games to begin.
