1. US

Two out of four points against the top team in the division.
Not a bad start to the road trip.
However, the Flames are from satisified.
Captain Mark Giordano scored the game-winner in a 4-3 victory over the Leafs in Toronto on Friday night, with Matthew Tkachuk, Derek Ryan and Chirs Tanex also lighting the lamp for the visitors, and Jacob Markstrom making 20 saves.
Twenty-four hours later, the Flames were blanked 2-0 by the Buds, Toronto scoring in the first and second period en route the win as they snapped a three-game losing streak.
"Toronto plays with a lot of structure," said Calgary coach Darryl Sutter. "They play a firm game in the neutral zone. There's a lot of chip plays, and you have to be able to recover pucks. Their defence was up to the task tonight."
Jack Campbell, who returned after missing time with a lower-body injury, made 31 stops, while David Rittich turned aside 31 of the shots he faced.
Rittich had this take after the loss:
"I think we played really good hockey game, what you can say, defensively," he said. "We've been really good in our zone. Obviously, we did some mistakes, but it's part of the hockey game and the team who's going to make less mistakes is going to win. I would rather say I outplayed Jack Campbell, but he outplayed me today and he was really good. That's kind of (it)."

2. THEM

The Senators should certainly be well rested.
They are coming off a four-game break between games, their last outing a 3-2 home shootout loss to the Canucks.
Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat scored first-period goals to stake Vancouver to the early advantage, but Ryan Dzingel tallied in the second and Josh Norris tied it up in the third to force OT and then the shootout.
Adam Gaudette scored the game-winner in the eighth round of the 1-v-1 frame.
While Ottawa only got a single point, the game spoke to their character and resilience this season.
"It says a lot," Ottawa defenceman Thomas Chabot said of their rally from the early deficit. "Like I said the other day, we show a lot of character and we don't give up on any games and we play until the end."
Filip Gustavsson made eight saves in his first NHL tilt, coming on in relief of Joey Daccord, who left early in the third period with an injury.
"It was kind of perfect," Gustavsson told Senators.com. "You don't have time to think about it. You just jump straight into the game.
"When you get thrown right into it you can't think about it. I could sleep well because I didn't have to worry about playing. I just came straight in and did exactly what I've been doing this year."

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER

This: Matthew Tkachuk is sitting at 98 hits this season. Once he hits 100, it will be the third consecutive season he has reached that milestone ... That: When Dillon Dube scores a goal, the Flames are 5-0-0 this season ... The Other:Johnny Gaudreau currently sits with his best career shooting percentage at 19.7% (excluding his single game in 2013-14). He already has 12 goals this season in 32 games after netting 18 goals in 70 tilts last season.

4. PLAYERS TO WATCH

Flames - Chris Tanev
The rugged defenceman scored his second goal of the season Friday but offence isn't his calling card. He's better known for going head-to-head with the opposition's top forwards (such as when he stopped Auston Matthews 1-on-1, getting on him and steering him out of harm's way Saturday), blocking a ridiculous amount of shots night-in and night-out, or being consistently in the right place at the right time to break up plays.
"He plays such a fundamentally sound game and within the structure of what we're trying to do, he's comfortable playing against those top guys like that," said Darryl Suter of the blueliner after Saturday's loss. "Put it this way: With Chris, you can count on him all the time and it doesn't matter what type of game it is, you can count on him."
Senators - Drake Batherson
The 22-year-old has four goals and five points in as many games against the Flames, but was held pointless in the last two outings between the clubs despite having some great chances. He's been dangerous during this season series using his speed to create opportunities for him and his teammates.

5. QUOTABLE

"I think we struggled to get through the neutral zone. We were chipping a lot of pucks (that) went to their goalie and they had a lot of easy exits and came at us with speed, forcing us to play three-quarter ice a little bit. We got better as the game went along, but against a good team like that, you have to play a full 60 minutes."
- Darryl Sutter on Saturday's loss to Leafs
