  1. ABOUT LAST NIGHT
It was a tough outing for the Flames Tuesday, as they fell 4-3 to the visiting Blackhawks.
Tyler Toffoli scored in the first as Calgary trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes, but Noah Hanifin tallied the lone goal of the second as the teams were deadlocked at two after 40 minutes.
Calgary outshot Chicago 19-4 in the middle stanza.
The Blackhawks struck for two goals early in the third period, with Mikael Backlund then making it a one-goal game but despite pulling Jacob Markstrom with 2:45 to play, the homeside couldn't find the equalizer.

    ### 2. KNOW YOUR ENEMY
The Jets have won two straight as they try and keep the Flames in the rearview mirror.
And they've done so in decisive fashion.
Winnipeg's offence - which had gone as cold as a Manitoba winter - has found its footing again, as the team ended March with a 6-2 shellacking of the Red Wings and, even more impressive, followed up with a 6-1 belting of the visiting Devils on Saturday in their most recent outing.
Nikolaj Ehlers opened the scoring, his first of two on the night, and relative newcomer Nino Niederreiter made it 2-zip after 20 minutes. Morgan Barron - on a penalty shot - and Kyle Connor doubled the lead at the second intermission, with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Ehlers rounding things out in a dominant performance.
Connor Hellebuyck had a busy night, stopping 31 of the 32 shots he faced.
The talk Tuesday after a quick half-hour practice in Winnipeg, to no surprise, centred on tonight's tilt with the Flames.
"Tomorrow night is probably going to be like a Game 7 for both teams," head coach Rick Bowness told Jets.com's Mitchell Clinton. "Win or lose, you're not eliminated, for sure. There's still three for them, four for us after. But that's the mentality both teams will probably have going into the game."
"It's as close to a must-win as you'll get in the regular season. It's a huge game," echoed forward Adam Lowry "The last two games, the way we've gotten off to fast starts it's going to be important we jump on them. They play tonight. Hopefully we can have some of the same success we've had in the first period the last couple games."

"Great rink, great fans"

3. FAST FACTS
HEAD-TO-HEAD:
The Flames and Jets meet for the third and final time this season and the second time at the Canada Life Centre. In the first meeting, the Flames came out of the gates flying with Elias Lindholm scoring just 3:23 into the game. Neal Pionk would tie the game for the Jets before Adam Ruzicka helped the Flames retake the lead heading into the break. The two teams would trade goals in the second with Dubois scoring for Winnipeg and Trevor Lewis recording a shorthanded marker for the Flames which would hold up to be the game-winner. Calgary would lock things down in the third to knock off the Jets 3-2.
The second tilt, both teams were firing the puck early with a combined 24 first-period shots, but Markstrom and Hellebuyck stood tall, and the game remained scoreless through 20. Brenden Dillon and Nikita Zadorov traded goals in the second to make it 1-1 through 40. In the third, Josh Morrissey gave the Jets their lead back before Mikael Backlund found himself in alone and slid his eighth on the campaign through the legs of Hellebuyck to tie the game once again. The Jets scored late in the third and would hold on for a 3-2 win.
BACKS AT IT:
Mikael Backlund scored his 18th on the campaign Tuesday night against Chicago, giving him 53 points this season. Those 53 points are tied for his career-high which he set in 2016-17. Backlund's 18 tallies also put him just two shy of the 20-goal mark and is looking to achieve 20 goals in a campaign for the third time in his career (22 in 2016-17, 21 in 2015-16, and 21 in 2018-19).
