1. ABOUT LAST TIME

Let the good times (continue to) roll.
The Flames are red hot, tying the second longest win streak in franchise history with eight, after a 6-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Flames sit atop the Pacific Division with 62 points, three ahead of Vegas with two games in hand.
Happy with the winning, but not satisfied.
"You've got to enjoy it and realize what makes you successful," said Matthew Tkachuk. "You also have to realize that not everything is perfect especially with last game. We weren't even close to being as good as we need to be. We have a lot to get better with.
"It's going to be a big Saturday night game and an emotional game. We are expecting Seattle's best so we have to be ready for that and continue this because it's been fun this past little stretch."
Saturday's tilt vs. the Kraken is the second of four meetings for the teams this season, the Flames posting a thrilling 6-4 comeback victory on Dec. 30.
Of course, the game features the return of former Flames captain Mark Giordano
"It's going to be a big Saturday night game and an emotional game," said Tkachuk. "We are expecting Seattle's best so we have to be ready for that and continue this because it's been fun this past little stretch."

2. KNOW YOUR ENEMY

A familiar face returns.
Former Flames captain Mark Giordano is set to play in his first regular-season game in Calgary after being selected by Seattle during last summer's expansion draft.
The Kraken head into the matchup with losses in three of their last four games, with Thursday's 5-3 decision to the Winnipeg Jets their latest defeat.
Vince Dunn and Marcus Johansson scored to give a Seattle a 2-0 lead before Winnipeg rattled off three straight and had a one-goal lead heading into the third.
Jordan Eberle tied it up in the final frame before the Jets potted a pair - the last with one second left courtesy of Kyle Connor - to salt it away.

EIGHT STRAIGHT: The Flames have now won eight straight dating back to Jan. 29 and have tied the franchise's second longest win-streak, last achieved Nov. 1 - 16, 2005. During this win streak, the Flames have outscored their opponents 37-13.

ALL-TIME MIKAEL: Mikael Backlund is set to play in his 792nd game tonight putting him fifth all-time for games played in Flames franchise history, passing Theo Fleury (791). Backlund was drafted in 2007 by the Flames and has played in 14 seasons, scoring 161 goals and notching 418 points.
Backlund ranks third in franchise history for seasons played (14), one behind Mark Giordano's 15 seasons. He also ranks 18th all-time in points (418), 16th all-time in goals (161), 14th all-time in assists (257), and has the 20th most multi-point games in franchise history (80).
DID YOU KNOW?: The Flames have scored five goals or more in their last five games marking the fifth time in franchise history that the Flames have scored five-plus goals in five straight wins, and the first time since Oct. 31 - Nov. 8, 1992. This also marks the Flames most consecutive games winning by at least three goals with five-straight wins coming with three-plus goal wins.

4. PLAYERS TO WATCH

Flames - Johnny Gaudreau
No surprise here, Johnny has been on a tear riding a eight-game point streak (4G, 8A) headed into tonight's clash. Back on Dec. 30, Johnny collected three points with a goal and two assists in the first ever match-up against the Kraken.
His 63 points sees him three away from top spot in the NHL, while his 52 even strength points and +39 rating are tops in the league. With two helpers Wednesday, he now has 367 career assists passing Giordano (366) for the fifth-most assists in Flames franchise history. He now trails Gary Suter (436) for the fourth most assists in franchise history.
Kraken - Mark Giordano
In his first game against his former club back on Dec. 30, the Kraken captain potted three points (1G, 2A) and currently leads all Seattle defenceman with 20 points (4G, 16A). His eight powerplay points are good for second on the club.

"You have to treat every game like a new game, you throw out what happened yesterday. It's been good for us, you don't want to be a team that gets complacent. You want to be a team that's always pushing to be better and looking to hunt down the teams in the standings and just also continue to build your game. You want to peak going into the post-season. We still have two and half months left in the regular season to keep putting in the work to get better. There's been lot of success lately, obviously it's been great to have all these home games to make up and string this streak together. We're just getting started. We gotta keep building our game and not be complacent for were we are at."
