The Flames look to get back in the win column after dropping just their second game of the season in a 3-2 loss to the Oilers Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Calgary led 2-1 in the third period but the visitors scored a pair to come-from-behind and grab the two points.
Mikael Backlund and Brett Ritchie each notched their third tallies of the season, while Jacob Markstrom made 23 saves.
"It just wasn't good enough from the whole team," Backlund said after the tilt. "We can play better than that ... we know that we were sloppy."
It was a tough way to lose considering the Flames seemed to have the game well in hand for much of the night, outshooting (42-26) and outchancing the Oilers.
"I think a few bad bounces," Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau explained. "We were up 2-1 and they scored two quick goals. But I thought overall we're a good team. I think we know what we can do. That's all it is. They're good offensively, but I think if we play in their zone that's how we're going to beat them."

The Kraken won a pair during their recent three-game homestand.
They thumped Buffalo 5-1 on Oct. 25, before being edged 5-4 on Oct. 27 by Vancouver and then, most recently, beating Sid and Co. 3-1 when Pittsburgh came to town Oct. 29.
"This was a team win," Kraken coach Dave Hakstol told NHL.com after beating the Pens, handing the visitors their fourth-straight loss. "We talked about it before the game. We had an opportunity to accomplish something here. It's game 10. We played a lot of hockey. For us, we look at things in segments, and at the end of our second segment we had a chance to put ourselves in a good spot in that segment, and we were able to do that."
After falling behind 1-0 at the midway point of the second period, Seattle answered with two tallies by Jordan Eberle - his first of the season - and Morgan Geekie to make it 2-1 after 40 minutes. Jaden Schwartz later sealed it with a minute to go in the game. Martin Jones got the victory in net, making 32 saves.
"When we needed the big save, Jones was there," Hakstol said. "We did a lot of little things right in terms of winning some of the right battles, including faceoffs, at a key time, so we did a lot of those little things."
Both Eberle and Jones became new dads the day before the tilt - a scheduled day off for the club, reported NHL.com's Bob Condor. Quite a weekend for the duo, who played big parts in the victory.
"This is special and something you always remember ... I think, more importantly, we got the win, especially after dropping a couple. We're trying to get over .500," said Eberle.
"Very special day yesterday obviously," echoed Jones. " The last 24 hours have been a roller coaster. I just tried to wrap my head around playing hockey today. Sometimes when you're not thinking too much, things work out. That might have been the case today."
RITCHIE RICH:Brett Ritchie scored again on Saturday and now has three goals this season which is tied for second on the team in the early stages of the 2022-23 season. Ritchie has matched his point total from last season in just seven games of the 2022-23 season as his sits with a three-game point streak coming into tonight (2G, 1A).

OCTOBER SUCCESS:The Flames finish the opening month of the season with a record of 5-2-0. Calgary has found success in the opening month of the season over the past two seasons, sitting with a record of 11-2-1 in the month of October since the start of last season. The Flames had a record of 7-3-4 during November in the 2021-22 season.
MONSTER MADNESS:The Kraken are coming into town winless against the Flames in their franchise history. The Flames went 4-0-0 against the Kraken last season as Noah Hanifin posted eight points (2G, 6A) in the season-series. Jacob Markstrom notched a record of 3-0-0 against the Kraken and Dan Vladar saw one game against Seattle in 2021-22, getting a win and allowing no goals.

Flames -Nazem Kadri
Naz has come out the gates firing with nine points through the first seven games to lead the club. His five powerplay points also are tops and he enters the week just two assists shy from 300 in his career.
Kraken- Jaden Schwartz
May seem like low-hanging fruit to pick the team's leading scorer, but he's been impressive to start the season and scored the insurance marker against the Pens.
Jonathan Huberdeau is one goal away from 200. He'd become just the eighth player from the 2011 NHL draft to notch 200 goals in their career. Huberdeau has the second most points from his 2011 draft class with 618, trailing Nikita Kucherov (TBL) by 10 points.
