The Flames fell 3-2 in a shootout Tuesday to the Predators in Nashville.
Trailing 2-0 midway through the second period, Andrew Mangiapane scored one and then added another in the third period to force overtime and then the 1-v-1 session.
"It was a tight game," said Mangiapane. "Those are kind of the fun ones to play in, right? Just kind of makes that (much) better - and makes US that much better. You want to play in those close games and that's what's playoff hockey is all about. It was a good game for us to gear up and get ready the next couple weeks here."

Juuse Sarros stopped all three Calgary players in the shootout - Johnny Gaudreau, Matthew Tkachuk and Tyler Toffoli - while Mikael Granlund managed to beat Dan Vladar to give Nashville the two points.
The Flames were playing their fifth game in eight days and second in 24 hours, beating the Blackhawks 5-2 in Chicago on Monday night.
"It's like a playoff game," said head coach Darryl Sutter of the Nashville tilt. "We had good chances that missed the net or hit the post. Good chances, (Calle) Jarnkrok hit the post - could have been up 1-0. But we get down two and then you fight back. That's what happens. Close games. No shootouts or 3-on-3. No pretty stuff in a week."

The Flames and Stars have met twice this season, Dallas getting a 4-3 overtime victory on Nov. 4 at the Scotiabank Saddledome and Calgary mounting a big comeback to win 4-3 in Texas on Feb. 1.
Trailing 3-1, they rattled off a trio of late third-period markers to grab the victory. Andrew Mangiapane, Johnny Gaudreau and Oliver Kylington scored in the final 5:24 of the game, with Trevor Lewis tallying in the first period.

The Stars were beat 5-2 by the Oilers Wednesday night before a quick trip down the QEII for tonight's tilt.
Edmonton jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first before Jason Robertson made it a one-goal tilt after 20 minutes. Roope Hintz scored 5:06 into the second to tie it up but Zach Hyman and Jesse Puljujarvi answered back
The game was a shooting gallery, with the Oilers having the edge 50-36.
"They've been off for three days and they had lots of jump in their legs tonight," Dallas coach Rick Bowness said. "We have to spend a little more time in their zone, we have to slow them up in the neutral zone, and then we have to end plays quicker in our zone; we have to get on them quicker. They had good jump and they were beating us to loose pucks, and they were able to keep moving the puck on the outside, and you have to try to end those plays as quick as you can."
The Stars were dumped 6-2 by the Canucks on Monday to start their three-game Canadian road swing.
Roope Hintz had a pair (his 33rd and 34th markers) in the loss, while Jake Oettinger started the tilt but was pulled after making 15 saves on 19 shots, replaced between the pipes by Scott Wedgewood.
"Half our guys (showed up), the other half didn't," Stars coach Rick Bowness told NHL.com's Kevin Woodley. "Puck management was terrible at both blue lines. Guys couldn't handle the puck, bad decisions, kept turning the puck over at the wrong time, at the wrong places and it cost us."

19 HAD 99: Matthew Tkachuk is just one point away from hitting the century mark on the season and becoming just the 10th Flames player all-time to reach the 100-point plateau in a season. With his 99th points, Tkachuk passed his father, Keith Tkachuk's season high of 98 points which he set in 1995-96.

QUITE A YEAR: The Flames 104 points is the fourth-most points in a single season in franchise history. Their 47 wins are also the fourth-most in a season in franchise history. The other three times (1988-89, 2018-19, 1987-88) that had 47 wins or more in a season they won their division and finished either first or second in league standings at the end of the regular season.
JOHNNY BE VERY GOOD: With his assist on Tuesday, Gaudreau is now tied for the third-most points in a season in Flames franchise history (108 tied w/ Bob MacMillan, 1978-79). Gaudreau also notched his 70th assist this season on Tuesday which is tied for the fourth-most in a season all-time (tied w/ Gary Suter, 1987-88). The last Flames player to notch 40 goals and 70 assists in a season was Kent Nilsson, who had 49 goals and 82 assists for 131 points in 1980-81, the most points in a season in Flames franchise history. Gaudreau is just two goals away from joining Nilsson with 40 goals and 70 assists in a season.

Flames - Oliver Kylington
In the first game against Dallas this season, Kylington set up the equalizer to send it into OT and in our second match-up, he scored the game-winner. It was an absolute beauty! See below:

Stars - Jason Robertson
The California-born product is having a heckuva sophomore season. He had 17 goals and 45 points in 51 games last season and for an encore, has recorded a team-leading 36 tucks to go with 34 helpers. He's skilled, creative and fast. His was described by Adam Gretz in a recent NBC Sports article as 'one of the most exciting and must-see players in the NHL.' High praise that's well deserved.
Johnny Gaudreau now has the most even-strength points in a season since 1995-96 with 85 (32G, 53A). Gaudreau passed Connor McDavid who had 84 even-strength points during the 2017-18 season.
