"Sadly, there are children who go to school without enough to eat and sometimes nothing at all," said Bennett. "This is an opportunity to raise awareness along with making sure that every child in Calgary has the food they need to succeed in the classroom."
"From our downtown kitchen, each lunch costs approximately $1 to create. The #SamFeedsKids campaign is set to raise $25,000 to provide 25,000 lunches to hungry kids across our city. We are grateful to partner in this initiative to bring awareness to childhood hunger in Calgary and offer Calgarians an exciting opportunity to take meaningful action to feed and care for our city's kids," says Tanya Koshowski, Executive Director, BB4CK.
This past November, Bennett proudly aligned with BB4CK as an official ambassador of the charity and alongside the Calgary Flames Foundation, donated $70,000 to the cause to help feed over 3,800 children in 210 schools every school day.
