Coronato, who was selected 13th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, now has 17 goals and 33 points through 32 games in his freshman season. He heads into the championship match-up on a four-game point streak, scoring eight points through that stretch.
Prior to his collegiate career, Coronato put up eye-popping numbers with the Chicago Steel in the USHL. After drafting the Greenlawn, NY product, Brad Treliving raved about his strong all-around game.
"He's not a perimeter guy that cheats to score," he said. "He's a very well-rounded player, which is unique when you're talking about a guy with his finishing skill.
"His ability ... He drives possession, he's responsible defensively, he plays inside the game and brings a lot of stuff inside the blue paint.
"The hardest thing to do in this league is score, and he's got a real knack for it. But how you score determines your ability to translate that from amateur to the pro level, and we think it's going to translate well."
