DATE WITH THE DEVILS
Tonight's game is the first in a two-game season set between the Calgary Flames and New Jersey Devils. The clubs will wrap up the series on Feb. 3 in Newark, NJ. In their 2015-16 season series, the Flames and Devils split the pair of contests with the home team winning their respective games. Johnny Gaudreau led the Flames in scoring against the Devils last year with three points. Sean Monahan and Matt Stajan trailed the winger with two points each in their two skates against New Jersey.
In their last 10 games against New Jersey, Calgary has a 7-2-1 record and have won their last five games against the Devils at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS VS. NEW JERSEY
Micheal Ferland and Matt Stajan picked their first NHL assists against the Devils.
Michael Frolik's first NHL goal came against New Jersey.
Jyrki Jokipakka made his NHL debut against the Devils on Oct. 24, 2014 as a member of the Dallas Stars.
'DOME COOKING
With Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks, the Flames have now won four straight at the Scotiabank Saddledome and outscored their opponents by a 14-6 margin. In the four wins, Mikael Backlund, Michael Frolik and Matthew Tkachuk have combined for 13 points and Calgary's top defensive pairing Mark Giordano and Dougie Hamilton have eight points.
Calgary's special teams have played a big part in the hot run at home. Their power play has operated at a 42.9 percent efficiency rate in the last four games while their penalty kill has allowed just a single goal against.
The Flames' four straight wins at home are part of a 9-3-0 record at the Scotiabank Saddledome since Nov. 30, 2016 - the best home record in the Western Conference during that stretch.
SPECIAL TEAMS FLYING
Wednesday's game was just the third in the Flames' last 11 skates where they have allowed a power play goal (four total power play goals against on 42 opportunities), while the club has scored one-or-more goals with the man advantage in all but four of their last 18 games (22 goals on 66 chances).
