Matthew Tkachuk scored the Flames' only goal of the night, while Dan Vladar was absolutely splendid, making 40 saves in the defeat.
The Flames finish the campaign with their second-best record in franchise history at 50-21-11. It also marks the first time Head Coach Darryl Sutter has led a team to the half-century mark in victories.
But now, the race to 16 W's is officially on deck.
The Flames opened the scoring at 3:19 when Tkachuk blocked a Brenden Dillon shot at the blueline and then took off on a breakaway. With Adam Lowry hustling back and whacking away from behind, Tkachuk pulled away, made a quick move to the forehand and shovelled his 42nd of the season past Connor Hellebuyck.
The Winnipeg netminder actually made the initial stop in tight, but Tkachuk slammed on the brakes deep in the blue paint and calmly punched home his own rebound.
With the tally, Tkachuk finishes the season tied with Elias Lindholm for the team lead in goals.
The Flames nearly extended their lead near the midway mark of the period when Dillon Dube - playing his 200th career game - gave a how-do-you-do to Neal Pionk and dangled him inside-out, before driving to the net and getting a shot off.
This time, Hellebuyck stood his ground and made a slick, right-pad save to keep it a one-goal game.
Moments later, the Flames got into some penalty trouble - and after separate infractions were called on Mikael Backlund (tripping) and Tyler Toffoli (hooking), the Jets had 78 seconds of 5-on-3 time to work with.
But as the old saying goes, your best penalty killer has to be your goalie, and Vladar was all that and more.
First, he robbed Jets captain Blake Wheeler, who was left all alone in front and was standing still and had almost too much time to make a play. Then, after 46-goal scorer Kyle Connor missed a wide-open net from the right circle, he came up with a timely save on a Neal Pionk one-timer.
The Flames were the better team and outshot the Jets 18-12 in the frame, but the homeside got a late one off the rush to even the score heading into the break.
Wheeler and Nikolaj Ehlers pulled off a beautiful, east-west give-and-go, with Wheeler opening up for the one-timer and blasting the Ehlers feed past Vladar from the edge of the near circle.
The Jets took a 2-1 lead at 6:06 of the second period when Mason Appleton recorded his eighth of the year. Calgary native Josh Morrissey wired a rolling puck through traffic from the point, and Appleton was there to slam home the rebound after Vladar kicked back out with the pad.
The Flames were under siege for much of the middle frame, with the Jets putting up 19 shots, 28 shot attempts, and nine high-danger looks.
Winnipeg's best chance game with eight-and-a-half minutes to play when Pierre-Luc Dubois found himself along at the doorstep after Connor made a pretty move at the line to shake a series of checks. But Vladar - all 6-foot-5 of him - lunged across to rob the sniper's cross-crease bid.
At the other end, Hellebuyck wasn't overly busy but was good when he had to be. With three minutes left in the period, he made a remarkable, point-blank stop off Tyler Toffoli, who was left alone in front and snapped a quick one-timer on goal.
The Flames were unable to draw even in the third.
Dillon scored into the empty net from long range with 20 seconds to go to ice a 3-1 Winnipeg victory.
