Tkachukuse

The point streak continues but the Flames will have to wait to get back in the win column.
Jack Eichel scored 1:30 into overtime just after a Buffalo powerplay ended and former Flame Chad Johnson made 32 saves to give the Sabres a 2-1 win Monday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

By getting the game to the extra frame, the Flames have now earned at least one point in nine straight contests and 10 of their last 11.
Matthew Tkachuk opened the scoring with a powerplay marker eight minutes into the first period. After drawing a tripping penalty in the offensive zone, Tkachuk tipped a soft shot from Johnny Gaudreau past Johnson, finding some room on the short side from the top of the crease for his 14th goal of the season.
The Sabres responded with an even-strength marker from Scott Wilson just 24 seconds later to tie it at one.
Gaudreau had a pair of dangerous wraparound attempts in the early stages of the second frame but the puck stayed out of the Sabres net on both occasions.
Following an icing call that gave the Sabres top unit an offensive faceoff against the Flames fourth line, Mike Smith made a sprawling pad save with a crowd in front of the net to keep the game tied, earning a roar of approval from the home fans.
Smith finished with 31 saves on the night.
Despite combining for 19 shots in the final 20 minutes, with the Sabres holding an 11-8 edge in that category, neither team could break the deadlock in regulation as the Flames went to overtime for the second straight game.
