It was '80s night at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday when the Flames hosted the Stars, and the game ended up being a high-flying affair - reminiscent of that decade - as the homeside fell 6-5 in overtime.
Jason Robertson scored with just 12.4 seconds left in extra time, capping off a wild, back-and-forth Western Conference tilt.

The Stars jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first period and were up 3-1 at one point before the Flames stormed back with three straight in the second period.
Dallas would tie it up before Rasmus Andersson put them ahead in the third period, only for the visitors to again knot the game and force OT.
Elias Lindholm, MacKenzie Weegar, Blake Coleman and Nick Ritchie also scored for Calgary, while Andersson finished the night with three points, as did fellow blueliner Weegar.
Jacob Markstrom got the start, turning aside 20 shots while at the other end of the ice, Jake Oettinger made 33 saves.
It was lively OT frame, with Andersson hitting a post and Markstrom denying Stars captain Jamie Benn when he held the puck on a 2-on-1 before Robertson ended it.
The Stars opened the scoring 1:05 into the tilt, Roope Hintz getting a shot on Markstrom, the Flames 'tender making the initial save but there was a pileup as he lay prone, the puck eventually making it up and over him, Joe Pavelski credited with the goal.
Dallas made it 2-0 just 52 seconds later, Hintz the man to get the first shot as he stood all alone out front, again Markstrom making the stop but Radek Faksa getting the rebound and putting it home.
But Lindholm would answer back 63 seconds ticks after.
Tyler Toffoli got the puck to Andrew Mangiapane who walked down main street and fired a shot, Oettinger kicking the rebound out right to Lindholm who one-timed home his 20th of the campaign from a tight angle.

Nazem Kadri nearly made it 2-0 before the midway point of the opening stanza, tipping a Weegar shot (although Trevor Lewis may have got a stick on it as well) that beat Oettinger but clanged off the post right up by the crossbar.
Dallas would regain its two-goal lead with 3:52 to play in the first period right off a faceoff win in the Flames zone, Wyatt Johnston tipping a point shot by Miro Heiskanen that beat a screened Markstrom.
Mikael Backlund - who was a beast on the PK as usual all game - held the puck on a 2-on-1 with Jonathan Huberdeau and rang one off the iron, followed by Lindholm also hitting a post not long after.
Weegar cut the deficit to one at 10:20, walking in from the point after getting a pass from Lindholm and putting it shortside past Oettinger, who had Andersson parked in front of him.

Andersson then made a smart heads-up play leading to Calgary's third goal at 13:56, walking in from the right point and snapping a shot five-hole that squeaked through Oettinger's five-hole and stopped inches from the goalline, swept in in dramatic fashion by Coleman who was laying belly down in the blue paint after a battle out front with a pair of Stars.

Ritchie gave the homeside their first lead of the night 16:58 when he took a dandy stretch pass from Andersson and skated in on a breakaway, sliding a backhander through the wickets for his second - and certainly prettiest - in Flames silks.

The lead didn't last long, with Robertson gathering a rebound in the slot and firing one gloveside to knot things back up 1:12 later.
Oettinger made a 10-beller 3:20 into the third, flashing the leather to rob Backlund after a turnover in the Dallas zone.
Andersson put the Flames back ahead at 9:53, taking a pass from Walker Duehr right up at the blueline and stepping into a blast that found twine for his 10th of the season.

The Flames dropped a 6-5 OT decision to Dallas

THEY SAID IT:

"They got their money's worth"

"Can't find a way to win in OT"

"Tough game and, ya, that sucked"

"We did a good job climbing back in the game"
