The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled goaltender Jon Gillies on an emergency basis from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League. The Flames also announced that goalie Mike Smith is listed as day to day with an upper body injury.
Gillies has played in eight games with the Heat this season recording four wins, one shutout, and sports a 2.50 GAA. In 39 games with the Heat last season, Gillies notched 18 wins, one shutout, and posted a 2.93 GAA. Gillies played in one game with the Flames in 2016-17 allowing only one goal on 28 shots in a win against the Los Angeles Kings.
