The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenceman Nikita Zadorov to a one-year contract with a $3,750,000 AAV.
Zadorov is a veteran of 411 NHL games split between Buffalo, Colorado, and Chicago. Zadorov has a total of 23 goals and 83 points in his NHL career along with 33 games of NHL playoffs experience where he's totaled four goals and four assists. The 26-year-old blueliner led the 2021 IIHF World Championships in plus/minus at +11 as a member of Team Russia while notching three assists in eight games. Zadorov, known for his physical play, led the NHL in hits with 278 during the 2017-18 NHL season. He was acquired by the Flames via
a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks
on July 28, 2021 for a 2022 third-round pick.
