LOS ANGELES - Johnny Gaudreau and the Pacific Division came close but were edged by the Atlantic Division in the 2017 NHL All-Star Skills Competition.
"It was a lot of fun," Johnny Gaudreau told CalgaryFlames.com. "I got to meet some of our teammates and get to know them a little bit better. We ended up winning the first part of it but didn't win the second, in the shootout.
"It was a great afternoon and it gets you excited for Sunday."
Gaudreau participated in the Skills Relay Challenge Relay, which kicked off Saturday's events. He went head-to-head with Patrick Kane in the event, which had five challenges: one-timers, passing, puck control, stickhandling and goalie goals.
He also took part in the shootout, taking a shot against the Atlantic's Tuukka Rask.
