The Flames will go with David Rittich in net when they kick off a five-game road trip in Montreal tonight, taking on the Canadiens at 5:00 PM MT (Sportsnet West).
Head coach Geoff Ward confirmed the Czech netminder will get the start this evening following the team's morning skate.
"He's been good in camp, he's been good up to this point in time so we're confident he's going to go in tonight and play a real solid game."
Last season, Rittich went 24-17-6 with a 2.97 GAA and a .907 save percentage. Tonight will mark his first start of the 2020-21 campaign.
In addition, the Flames may have Dillon Dube back in the lineup. The forward has missed the past two games with a lower-body injury but took part in the morning skate at the Bell Centre and will be a game-time decision. He alternated on a line with Milan Lucic, Derek Ryan, and Joakim Nordstrom.
