The Flames EvenStrength Program supports families who require financial assistance to play hockey in an effort to ensure every child who wants to play hockey is. Applications are open for this program until October 15th through Hockey Calgary and KidSport Calgary. Support is also provided to the Comrie's Equipment Bank - making sure youth have access to equipment for all sports.
Flames Community House League is a league operated by Hockey Calgary in which teams play a set schedule twice a week, have a standardized fee, no tournaments and play inter-regional games. Registration is open through Hockey Calgary. The Calgary Flames Foundation has also donated half ice boards and jerseys for all Hockey Calgary Novice teams through the Flames Novice program.
In support of rural Alberta locations, funding is provided to the Hockey Alberta Foundation's Every Kid Every Community program for rural communities with hockey needs. The goal of this program is to provide every child in Alberta the opportunity to play hockey, have fun and, in many cases, experience the sport for the first time.
The Flames and Hitmen Leadership Day for youth is taking place November 4th in partnership with Hockey Calgary. Pee Wee or Bantam players will be able to register through Hockey Calgary on Monday October 21. Space is limited and will be on a first come first serve basis. The day focuses on off-ice and on-ice leadership, teamwork and respect in the game.
Four full HEROS hockey and SuperHEROS programs are being supported by the Foundation again this year. HEROS is using hockey as a catalyst for at-risk youth and SuperHEROS is Calgary's first on-ice program for youth with cognitive and physical challenges.
Flames education programs are also open for registration in Calgary schools. This includes the Flames Reading… Give it a Shot! and Harvey's Little Readers in partnership with The Education Partnership Foundation (TEPF). The NHL Future Goals program and Flames@School are also open for students and teachers with unique online content in health and wellness and STEM.

Other charities that receive funds annually in partnership with the Calgary Flames Foundation include Calgary and southern Alberta post-secondary institutions, the YMCA, Rotary Flames House through the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta. The Calgary Flames Foundation strives to improve the lives of southern Albertans through support of health and wellness, education and grassroots and amateur sports. Since inception the Calgary Flames Foundation has donated over $36 million to southern Alberta charities.
