Flames prospect Topi Ronni has been named to Finland's roster for the 2023 World Junior Summer Showcase, which runs Jul. 27 through Aug. 4 in Plymouth, Mich.
The annual event gives the USA, Sweden, and Finland an opportunity to evaluate talent for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in a competitive environment.
Ronni, who was the Flames' second round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, represented Finland in last year's World Junior tournament, skating in five games.
The 19-year-old has spent the bulk of the 2022-23 season with Tappara's pro side, logging five points through 22 games. He also played seven games with Tappara's U20 squad, posting 10 points in that stretch.
The 2024 tournament will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, starting on Dec. 26, 2023 and wrapping up on Jan. 5, 2024.
