SUTTER ON HOW IT PLAYED OUT:

ON EARLY PREDS GOALS:

"We had guys laying in the crease on both goals. Our guys. Generally, it's the other way around."

ON HOW HE WOULD SUM UP ROAD TRIP:

"Got more points than games played."

"I didn't like the goals against in the first period"

ON GENERATING OFFENCE:

"I think after two periods, we had some guys with no shots, so we're counting on some guys to produce a little bit. Seen it on the trip. It wasn't just tonight."

ON SLOW START TO THE GAME:

"They're at home and we're at the end of a trip. There's no magic to it. Just both goals they scored, you've got to check. First one, you've got a defenceman laying in front of the net and then right at the end of a powerplay."

ON LOSING THE FACEOFF BATTLE:

You know what? After two periods, their centremen were totally dominating. I don't know what it would be at the end, but the faceoff ratio - and we talked about it - our centres vs. their centres and we saw it in Calgary, too. (Colton) Sissons and (Ryan) Johansen totally dominated us there. I didn't see after three, but after two - my little tick of my own, we were getting our (butts) kicked. That's possession. That's a big part of the game."

ZADOROV ON THE TOUGH LOSS:

"It was a pathetic effort by us. First two periods, for sure. We were a step behind. Energy wasn't there, commitment wasn't there, we weren't shooting, we were making bad plays, giving up too many chances. Just all-around, bad effort for us.
"No excuse. We have a goal. We have a gameplan and know how we should play and have to play. It just wasn't there tonight."

"We were making bad plays"

ON TOFFOLI'S DISALLOWED GOAL:

"It's tough. Those calls kind of always questionable. They're always 50-50, I feel like. I think Toff was just trying to play the puck and I wasn't sure even if you kick it and the goalie touches it before the goal line. I'm just unclear on that, for sure. We had a breakaway after, had a few chances after and could have buried it. We didn't and lost the game."

ON ROAD TRIP AS A WHOLE:

"The game tonight was to make it not 'good,' (but) 'great.' We didn't get two points, so just a good trip."
