TOFFOLI ON JOINING THE FLAMES:

ON CONNECTIONS TO CURRENT FLAMES ROSTER:

"Honestly, last year was pretty easy with the COVID stuff and playing against them eight or nine times, whatever it was. I'm happy to be joining them. I'm really good friends with Looch and knowing the guys in Vancouver with Tanny and Marky, and then going back to junior with Mony. I'm excited to be back in the locker-room with them and catch up and just continue to win games.
"This morning, I had Trevor Lewis texted me right away. I'm excited to be with all of them again. They're all my friends and I feel like it's going to be a really easy transition for me and like I said, I'm just excited to be back in the locker-room and chatting it up with them."

ON FRIENDSHIP WITH LUCIC:

"We normally spend the bye weeks or the All-Star breaks together and last year, obviously, we didn't have one. But this year, we caught up and I'm really close with obviously his wife and the kids. I think his wife wants to pick me up from the airport. It's going to be a good little reunion. I haven't seen the kids in a little while here so it will be nice to be back with them."

ON OPPORTUNITY WITH FLAMES:

"I think they're all buying into what Darryl is preaching. Obviously, I was with Darryl earlier in my career and we had a lot of success. It's going to be a lot of fun. I'm excited to play winning hockey again. It wasn't going the way that we had planned in Montreal and last year was a lot of fun here. I'm going to miss the city and miss the guys on the team, for sure, but going to a winning team - a team that's trying to win - is a lot of fun."

Toffoli to Calgary. Done deal.

SUTTER ON ADDING VETS LIKE TOFFOLI:

"If they're still capable players, it's very important. Experience is one thing, winning experience is a totally different one. TOTALLY different. Going back to Tyler, you can't overlook the fact that he knows this division, which I think is important and that he's played with Marky, Tanny in Vancouver. The connection is as much with them as it is with the guys in LA, I would say."

ON TOFFOLI'S PLAYOFF PROWESS:

"You have to be able to handle pressure and you have to be able to handle the physical element and you have to be able to recover because you play a lot of games in a short period of time, and you've got to be able to withstand some pain in terms of perhaps playing hurt. You don't have long playoff runs without playing well on the road, which means you're on the ice against good players a lot."

Coach on Toffoli: "He's a winner"

MILAN LUCIC ON ADDING A PLAYER OF THIS CALIBRE:

"Just a lot of excitement. There's a lot of confidence and trust from management to make the next step for the team to move in the right direction. We're in a good spot right now because of how we've played in the first 45 games - and what's nice, too, is that we didn't make this trade with 15-20 games left. We've made this trade with 37 games, so there's a lot of season to be played, and we've got a lot of games coming up in not a lot of days coming up, so it's... Everyone's smiling, everyone's happy about it, and now it's just about keeping it going in the right direction."

SEAN MONAHAN ON VOTE OF CONFIDENCE FROM GM:

"It's obviously exciting. As a team right now, we're in a good spot and we're trying to get better every day. When you add a player like Toff to our team, it gives you confidence and now the work's ahead of us."

ON WHAT TYPE OF PLAYER TOFFOLI IS:

"Toff's really smart. He goes to the right areas and knows how to score. He scores a lot, scores big goals. Great player."

"I think everybody is fired up"

MARKSTROM ON THE BIG ADDITION:

"It's good. I think everybody's fired up. Everybody knows what kind of a player he is and he's a goal-scorer everywhere he goes and I'm happy because he usually scores on me and has been doing it his whole career. I'm happy I got him to Vancouver, I was happy then. He left to Montreal and last year he scored some goals, and this year he scored too. I'm happy he's wearing the C now.
"In the room, too, he's a great guy. A little quiet but a good guy and he wants to win and he's excited to come here and obviously familiar with Looch and Tanny and myself and a few other guys, so I feel he's going to fit right in."
