"It showed the character inside our room, for sure. But we had a bad start and gave up an easy first three goals. When down in this league, it's hard to come back when you're down a couple goals at the start of the game. I think New Jersey was a good team as well. The focus tonight is to have a better start than last game."

ON LOWERING THE BOOM:

"For sure. I think that's been the case my whole career. It kind of gets me going. It's my style, so it's definitely something I look to do at the start of a game to get myself going."

GILBERT ON CALL-UP FROM WRANGLERS:

"Terminology is identical and obviously heavy emphasis on checking down there just like there is here with Darryl. A lot of the same message so it kind of helps that you don't have to have a big transition when you come up."

ON DESIMONE:

"It's cool. We've been close for a long time. Got the chance to play together in the summers quite a bit over the last five, six years. We always said we were going to try and play together at some point so it's nice that it worked out and we got to the same organization."

DESIMONE ON CALL-UP:

"It make it convenient, being next door. We didn't have to travel anywhere. Just kind of hoped on the flight the next day. It made it easy."

ON SETTLING IN:

"It helps a lot - coming up here and playing the same way: systems, faceoffs, specialty teams. It just makes it that much easier to jump in and play hockey."
