ON JOHNNY GAUDREAU'S PLAYMAKING:

"With Johnny now, I feel like he's playing at a very high level and sees the ice well. By now, when he has it behind the net, it's just, try to find open space. Ten out of ten, he'll find you. Just got to have your stick on the ice and be ready to shoot."

ON FACING THE SHARKS:

"Lost all three so far this year. Obviously, we want to get one, at least, and keep this road trip going in a good way. But I think overall, we haven't shown our best (against them) and it's a great opportunity for us to show them what we've got."

CHRIS TANEV ON START TO THE ROAD TRIP:

"Obviously, two tough games. It's always tough playing LA and Anaheim and yeah, just trying to keep our goals-against down and limit our chances. Marky did a great job for us, making great saves when we needed (him) to and top guys stepped up when they needed to as well.
"We've been better (defensively) than we were at home, but we still need to be better as we progress here through the rest of this road trip."

ON MICHAEL STONE'S BIG NIGHT:

"Stoney's a veteran D man and has played for a long time. You know what he's going to do, you know where he's going to be. He's a very smart player.
"The whole team was extremely excited for him (last night). He's one of the hardest-working guys I've played with. He never complains, never says anything and it's a privilege to play with him the last few games."

DARRYL SUTTER ON KEY FOR TONIGHT:

"Back-to-back game. … We've given up too many goals against them and I think they've caught us at bad times for us - trips, COVID, sick players, things like that. There's lots more that go into that, so we're going to come and play."

ON WHAT THE SHARKS DO WELL:

"They have some (firepower), obviously. The two defencemen are star players and Hertl and Couture are star players. I think Meier has done a good job against us, which... He's a top scorer in the league and that's obvious on every team."

ON BACK-TO-BACK SITUATION:

"As you go deep into the season, the back-to-backs become tougher, right? It is a long year, so your back-to-backs become more... You see more of what your top players have to do in back-to-backs to stay efficient. And you have to see - if you're not banged up - see how your depth holds up.
"I think it's really important. I think you have to spread out [ice time] and at the same time, guys have to... It's still about earning it, too."
