BLAKE COLEMAN ON FACING THE CANUCKS:

ON MIKAEL BACKLUND'S GAME ON THURSDAY:

"It was good. He's a really good player, he does a lot of things really well. He's not always the most talked-about because we do have some guys putting up some pretty big numbers, obviously, but he's one of those guys that you need - just kind of a trenches guy that plays hard both ways. He's an easy guy to play with. He makes smart decisions and he can get up and down the sheet. It's nice to see him start to get rewarded. He probably could have double what he has this year, just opportunity-wise, we've had a lot. It was just a matter of time before he got going and hopefully that's just the beginning."

ON FIRST TIME SEEING VANCOUVER AS A FLAME:

"Obviously, we do so much video nowadays and there's so much preparation for teams, you get a good feel for what their strengths are. It's fun to play different teams. Obviously, last year, especially, you got tired of playing the same teams over and over again, so it's a breath of fresh air to get out and play the rest of the league. There's nothing too different about teams. It's just new faces every game so you've got to learn what to take away and exploit on their side."

"It'll be another good test for us"

TREVOR LEWIS ON THE FLAMES' PK:

"I think we've got a good plan going in and we've got some guys that have been doing it for a long time, too. It starts with the faceoffs - and Lindy and Backs take most of those - and they're really good on them and when they do get in the zone, we've been good at pressuring our pressure points and making plays and getting the clears when we need them."

"I think we have a good plan going in"

DARRYL SUTTER ON THE CANUCKS:

"They're playing well right now. I think their young players or guys they're looked on as top skilled guys are playing better."

"They're playing well right now"

ON STARTS TO GAMES:

"What is a good start? It's not always... You'd like to score the first goal, but a lot of it is about playing the right way early in games and being able to put shifts together and being able to put periods together. I haven't had a problem with that all year, to be quite honest. It's the odd one where there's a bad goal or a bad penalty and it changes the momentum, but we haven't had much of a problem with that at all."
