DARRYL SUTTER ON BOUNCING BACK:

ON LINEUP:

"Lines have been fine. 5-on-5, they were good the other night until we got down, and then it wasn't as clean as it was prior."

Coach weighs in on tonight's game

ON GAUDREAU AND MONAHAN:

"They are high-end skill players and they've done that in the past. I think it's just a little bit more of their shot volume, shot quality, pace of game, 200-foot game. It's not just pond hockey. And again, I said that because of this division, you've got the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are tied for first and they play a complete game. Their top players have made that adjustment to play a complete game. You have to try and emulate those teams to have any success here."

MONAHAN ON FACING THE LEAFS:

"When you're playing against a team that has that kind of skill, you don't want to let them have any touches and you've got to stay out of the penalty box. You can't lose games like that (on Wednesday), and we know that. That's the message."

ON PLAYING 'THE RIGHT WAY':

"I think when everybody's on the same page and you're playing the right way... You don't want to give up much in this division. We've got to play smart, we've got to play better, and we know we've got two great goalies. You just want to play the right way. You don't want to win games 6-4 or 5-4 or whatever. We know we've got skill on our team, but we've got to check first, and that's when we're going to get our opportunities."

"Everybody has to play a role here"

GAUDREAU ON MEASURING-STICK GAME:

"We obviously have a good test in front of us. We're fighting to try and get back to a playoff spot here, and to play against a team like this is going to be exciting. We've played well against them in the past, so we're looking forward to this game and it's a big one for us."

"We're trying to change our identity"

ON WHAT HE'S LEARNED ABOUT SUTTER SO FAR:

"He loves hockey, he cares about winning, cares about us as well and he's excited to be here with us and we're excited to have him. We got off to a good start, took a little step back the other night, but we're going to work to try and get back on track here tonight."
