ON THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON:

ON THE BUSY SCHEDULE AHEAD:

"I think everybody would rather play games than practice. Games are the fun stuff and that's where you get the emotions and you play for points, and we know we've got this next 25 or something days, it's three games a week and it's a good schedule for us. We've got to make this count and we can't look too much - too long - ahead. We've got to stay focused on the task that's coming up with Vegas tomorrow, Toronto after that. There's big points and big points to be had and after these few games here, we're going to be even in games played with most of these teams."

ON TEAM SHUTOUT RECORD:

Markstrom currently has seven; Miikka Kiprusoff holds the single-season franchise record with 10
"It's more about the goals-against, to keep that as low as possible. You try to stay close with that. And wins. Me, personally, that's what I look at the most. I want to help guys and help the team win as much as possible and when it comes down to it, that's what matters. That's when you get points. You don't get any extra bonus points for a shutout or a good save percentage.
"I've never met him, but coming from Sweden, we saw Finland a lot. Even national team and Sweden-Finland games, he would usually play when I was younger. Then coming over here, he was obviously super successful in his time here in Calgary and has been one of many good goalies that this organization has had and is a good person to look at when it comes to goaltending - and the amount of success is something you want to meet, you want to meet that success and be up in the conversation with him. But that's a long way away."

ON ELIAS LINDHOLM/SELKE CONVERSATION:

"I feel like they should really look at him for the Selke. I get to see him every day being on the same team, and when we play games, you see he matches up with the other team's best players. Against Florida, he's matching up with (Aleksander) Barkov and against those players that are in the conversation every year, and I think when you look at plus/minus and everything like that - game to game when (he) plays against them - he's always ahead of them. Better numbers. I don't know. It's something, for sure, that they should look at him. This year, too, he's playing with Johnny and Chucky, who've been great putting up a ton of points. … (But) he's kind of a guy who keeps it all together. Especially defensively. There's a lot of hard work that goes (unnoticed)."
